Daybell (“the app”, “we”, “our”) is a local-first Android and iOS application that helps you structure your day with a timetable and real alarms. This policy explains what data the app accesses, why, and how it is handled.

Data we collect

We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. Daybell operates entirely on your device. All schedules, alarms, and settings you create are stored locally and never sent to any server.

Permissions requested

On Android, Daybell requests the following permissions to deliver its core functionality:

• Schedule exact alarms (SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM / USE_EXACT_ALARM) — Required to fire alarms at precisely the time you have scheduled, even when the phone is locked or the app is in the background. Without this permission the core alarm feature cannot work.
• Post notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS) — Required to display alarm alerts and transition reminders on your screen and lock screen.
• Battery optimization exemption (REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS) — Requested so the Android system does not defer or kill the alarm service to save battery. This ensures alarms ring reliably on all devices, including those with aggressive battery management.

None of these permissions give the app access to your contacts, location, camera, microphone, or any other sensitive data. This section will be updated with the equivalent iOS permissions once the iOS app is available.

Third-party services

Daybell does not integrate any analytics, advertising, or third-party SDKs. No data is shared with any third party.

Children’s privacy

Daybell is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, the revised version will be posted at this URL with a new “Last updated” date.
